For individuals who purchased a covered LG refrigerator from an authorized retailer between Jan. 1, 2014 and Dec. 31, 2017, then you are eligible for a potential award from the LG Refrigerator Cooling Defect Class Action Lawsuit!

According to the lawsuit, plaintiffs claimed that their appliances were defective due to a cooling defect which caused refrigerator failure and spoiled food. LG denies all acts of allegations, however, they have agreed to settle the class-action lawsuit in order to avoid the further risk and cost of ongoing litigation.

LG Refrigerator Cooling Defect Lawsuit

  • Claim Form Deadline: January 11, 2020
  • Who’s Eligible: Individuals who purchased a covered LG refrigerator from an authorized retailer between Jan. 1, 2014 and Dec. 31, 2017
  • Estimated Amount: Cash payments of up to $450 without proof and up to $6,000+ with proof of purchase
    • $50 for one or more unsuccessful repairs
    • $100 for out-of-pocket labor costs for repairs
    • $50 for repairs that were delayed by at least 10 days
    • Up to $250 for property loss (such as food/beverage spoilage or other damages)
    • Reimbursement rates will be higher for those with proof of purchase
  • Proof of Purchase: Receipts, invoices, photographs, payment card records, inspection records, insurance records, or other reasonable documentary proof are not required but may result in higher payments for Class Members
  • Case Name & Number: Michael Bentley, et al. v. LG Electronics U.S.A. Inc., Case No. 2:19-cv-13554-MCA-MAH, in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and Sosenko, et al. v.
