Consumers could benefit from a $60 million settlement between the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and AT&T resolving claims that the wireless provider engaged in data throttling — reducing the “unlimited” data speeds.
According to the FTC, AT&T promised its customers “unlimited” data without qualification. In reality, the company allegedly throttled data speeds to the point that data was impossible to use.
AT&T is a mobile carrier that offers cellular and data services to customers.
