![Class Action Lawsuit]()
Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that it failed to prevent an August 2020 data breach that compromised employee data.
According to a class action lawsuit from SEPTA employees, the transportation authority failed to implement reasonable cybersecurity measures which would have prevented a 2020 data breach. As a result, the data breach allegedly compromised sensitive identifiers and protected health information.
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) is a transit system that serves the greater Philadelphia area and connects to Delaware and New Jersey through railways, buses, trolleys, subways and a high-speed line.
SEPTA hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.
