According to the class action lawsuit, Choice Health mismanaged the May 2022 data breach by failing to prevent the cyberattack and refusing to disclose the breach promptly. The 2022 data breach was not announced until October of that year, allegedly leaving data breach victims clueless for months that someone had stolen their information and it may be misused.
Choice Health Insurance is a healthcare insurance provider that offers both personal and group policies.
Choice Health hasn’t admitted wrongdoing but agreed to a $500,000 settlement to resolve the data breach class action lawsuit.
