Apple has agreed to a $25 million class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that it misrepresented its Family Sharing plan in order to deceive users.
According to the Apple Family Sharing plan class action lawsuit, Apple concealed the fact that consumers who purchased app subscriptions would not be able to share these subscriptions with family members through Apple’s Family Sharing groups. Plaintiffs in the case claim Apple intentionally misled them about the capability of Family Sharing plan features.
Apple Family Sharing allows up to six family members to share access to certain Apple services, including App Store purchases.
Apple hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay $25 million to resolve the class action lawsuit.
