If you are or used to be an electricity customer of LADWP you may be eligible for a potential award from the Los Angeles Electricity Surcharge Class Action Lawsuit! According to the lawsuit, an eight percent surcharge exceeds the cost of delivering utility service. Plaintiffs claim that the surcharge constitutes a tax that under California law must be approved by a vote of the electorate and since the surcharge has not been approved it is considered unlawful.
