For individuals who purchased any 4-pack, 6-pack, 12-pack, or 24-pack of Kona Beer between Feb. 28, 2013 and June 14, 2019., then you are eligible for a potential award from the Kona Beer Hawaiian Origin Class Action Lawsuit!

According to the lawsuit, Kona Brewing Company used deceptive marketing and false statements to advertise their products. The company portrayed their beers as being made in Hawaii when the products were allegedly brewed in New Hampshire, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington state facilities. As well as, using imagery that included surfers, volcanos, hula dancers, Waikiki beach, and other Hawaii-associated images to deceive consumers.

Kona Brewing Company have agreed to settle the class-action lawsuit in order to avoid the further risk and cost of ongoing litigation. So if you are eligible, file a claim by October 7, 2019 to receive your potential award!

  • Who’s Eligible: Consumers who purchased any 4-pack, 6-pack, 12-pack, or 24-pack of Kona Beer between Feb. 28, 2013 and June 14, 2019. Single bottles or cans of Kona Beer are not eligible for the settlement.
    • The following varieties of Kona Beers are included: Longboard Island Lager, Hanalei IPA, Castaway IPA, Big Wave Golden Ale, Lemongrass Luau, Wailua Wheat, Fire Rock Pale Ale, Pipeline Porter, Lavaman Red Ale, Koko Brown Ale, Kua Bay IPA, Gold Cliff IPA, Kanaha Blonde Ale, Liquid Aloha Variety Pack, Island Hopper Variety Pack, Happy Mahalo Variety Pack, and Wave Rider Tandem Pack.
  • Estimated Amount: Up to $20 with proof of purchase and up to $10 without proof of purchase.
  • Proof of Purchase: Receipts, a copy of the UPC from the Kona Beer package(s), a copy of the purchase on a credit card statement, and other valid documentation. Proof of purchase is not required but can result in higher payments if provided.
  • Case Name & Number: Broomfield, et al. v. Craft Brew Alliance Inc., et al., Case No. 5:17-cv-01027-BLF, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California

  1. Head over to the Kona Beer’s Claim Form.
  2. Look over the claim form to see if you are eligible.
  3. Complete the claim form with your information.
  4. Submit your claim by October 7, 2019 to receive your potential award!
