The settlement will benefit individuals who used a credit or debit card to make a purchase at any Burgerville restaurant between September 12, 2017 and September 30, 2018. You may be eligible for a potential award from the Burgerville Data Breach Class Action Lawsuit!

According to the class action lawsuit, the restaurant chain announced a “security incident” on October 3, 2018. The security incident was reportedly a cyber attack on Burgerville’s network and failed to implement proper security measures to protect consumers’ financial information

  • Who’s Eligible: Class Members include those who “used [a] debit or credit card to make a purchase at a Burgerville restaurant from September 12, 2017 through September 30, 2018.”
  • Estimated Amount: Free credit monitoring service for two years and up to $3,000 in expense reimbursement:
    • Those who incurred out-of-pocket expenses, but did not experience identity theft, can claim up to $250.
    • Those who incurred out-of-pocket expenses and experienced identity theft can claim up to $3,000.
  • Proof of Purchase: Class Members claiming out-of-pocket expenses must provide documentation of those expenses.
  • Case Name & Number: Chris Cochran, et al. v. Burgerville LLC, Case No. 18CV44864, and Maureen Brennan v. Burgerville LLC, Case No. 18CV50994, both in the Circuit Court of Oregon, County of Multnomah
